Miller Minutes

Miller Minutes with Butler Eagle reporter, Molly Miller

With all this talk about AI swirling around, I think it’s time to unpack exactly how it fits into the art world.

From Grammarly and other writing generators to the use of AI image technology DALL-E, computers are pulling the creative weight for lots of internet users (and even students) today.

While many are debating the ethics of this, I’d like to propose that though computers can produce something that looks creative, it cannot beat the true creativity humanity possesses.

Think about it: The human experience is unique. Only a person who’s seen a beautiful sunset, tasted an apple or heard a specific song can describe how it affected them. An algorithm can only do so much to emulate that.

All this to say, I doubt there will come a day we go to a museum to see AI art or watch a play put on by robots. Although, some of those dinosaur experiences you’re seeing nowadays come pretty close to it.

All the events you see below are put on by real people from Butler County, not robots. I hope you find something you can enjoy.
