David J. 'D.J.' Kellogg
David James "D.J." Kellogg, 84, of 1223 Plain Grove Road, Volant in Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County, died at 11:35 a.m. Saturday at Orchard Manor, Grove City.
Born in Mercer Township, Nov. 21, 1924, he was the son of William Lorenzo Kellogg and Fannie Florence Cooper Kellogg.
He married H. May Garlick on March 14, 1946. She died March 26, 2007.
Mr. Kellogg, along with his family, owned and operated Kellogg Farms Inc. and Kellogg Trucking LLC.
He was a Protestant.
He enjoyed working, hunting and his dog, Annie.
Surviving are two daughters and their spouses, Carol L. and Robert Burnett of Harrisville and Mary Lou and Ronald Phipps of Mercer; and three sons and their spouses, David James "Jim" and Karen Kellogg Jr. of Slippery Rock, Daniel Joseph "Joe" and Jill Kellogg of Slippery Rock and Mark Scott and Theo Kellogg of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, William W. Kellogg; and three infant grandchildren.
<B>KELLOGG</B> — Visitation for David James "D. J." Kellogg, who died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Linda Kellogg, CLP and director of ministries of Coolspring Presbyterian Church of Mercer, will officiate. Interment will be in the North Liberty Cemetery, Liberty Township, Mercer County.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205-4620.
