3:44 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by a 17-year-old Manorville, Armstrong County, girl struck the Lyndora exit sign on the side of Route 422. Police said the girl, who they did not identify, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.9:18 a.m. Saturday — Lee McKain, 35, of Slippery Rock was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for an apparent drug overdose and later arrested by police when they learned he was wanted on a warrant in Allegheny County.Authorities were initially called to Wyncrest Drive for a report of an unresponsive man, who turned out to be McKain. Police found a syringe and spoon on the suspect. Police charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia.12:07 a.m. Saturday — One person was hurt in a two-car crash on New Castle Road in front of Moraine Pointe Plaza. Harold Green, 68, of Butler and Lucas Morrow, 18, of Fenelton, were driving the cars. A passenger in Green's vehicle, who police did not identify, suffered a minor head injury.Police cited Green for disregarding a flashing red light and a seat belt violation.7:44 p.m. Wednesday — Amanda Beck, 26, of Chicora and Emily Greer, 19, of Butler were caught allegedly shoplifting $335 in merchandise from Walmart in Butler Commons.Both women are charged with retail theft and conspiracy. Greer also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.10:54 p.m. Jan. 21 — John F. Williams, 46, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after he crashed his car on Saxonburg Road. Williams was treated at Butler Memorial for unknown injuries.In addition to DUI, Williams is charged with careless driving, driving at an unsafe speed and an open container violation.
5:10 p.m. Saturday — An unknown thief took about $350 from a purse that was in an unlocked car parked at the BP Station on West Main Street.Friday — An unknown hit-and-run driver knocked over a street sign at South Center Street and Columbia Avenue and struck a utility pole at Columbia Avenue and Superior Street.Anyone with information about either crash is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.
Monday — A 42-inch Vizio television was taken in a burglary at a mobile home on Golden Lane in Connoquenessing Township. The break-in happened between Friday and Monday. The TV is worth $1,100.Sunday — An unknown thief stole two all-terrain vehicles from a Hooker Road home in Concord Township. The ATVs, each worth $5,000, are a green, 2000 Kawaski KVF300 and a green, Polaris Magnum 500. The theft happened between Jan. 29 and Sunday.Sunday — A laptop computer valued at $2,100 was reported stolen from an apartment at the Campus Side Apartments in Slippery Rock Township. The theft happened Saturday or Sunday.10:18 p.m. Saturday — Cars driven by Nikki L. Macurdy, 18, of Cabot and Monica S. Davis, 44, of Chicora collided on Bonniebrook Road just south of Route 68 in Oakland Township. Davis, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Police said Macurdy was cited for making an improper left turn.5:11 a.m. Jan. 24 — Joshua L. Ross, 21, of Parker was hurt when the car he was driving crashed into a pair of concrete barriers and barely missed hitting a building at Route 368 and 268 in Parker, Armstrong County. Ross, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Clarion Hospital with moderate injuries.
