Sandi grew up in New Kensington and graduated from New Kensington High School in 1959. She went on to study at Carlow College in Pittsburgh. She transferred during her sophomore year to St. Francis College, Loretto, and graduated in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and secondary education with minors in English and philosophy. She took graduate courses both at Middlebury College in Vermont and at a special center in Madrid, Spain.

She was formerly employed as a Spanish teacher at Butler Senior High School.

She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church, and was also a member for many years of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Shoup of San Mateo, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sandi was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael D. Cammisa Jr., whom she married Aug. 5, 1967, and who passed away Dec. 19, 2019.
