John ‘Jack’ Perlinger

Perlinger

John “Jack” Perlinger, 88, of Renfrew, passed away on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, while under the care of the Sergeant Joseph George Kusick VA Community Living Center, where he had been a resident for over two years. Prior to being a resident at the CLC, Jack was proud to be the builder of his home in Renfrew, where he lived for over 40 years.

Born May 3, 1935 in Sharpsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Henry and Mary Blakely Perlinger.

Jack graduated from North Catholic High School in 1953. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960 in Korea. Jack was a 58 year member of the IUOE Local 66. His family could rely on his ability to fix anything. Jack enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and going to the beach, especially to Kill Devil Hills, N.C. and Daytona Beach, Fla. He was the life of the party with a great sense of humor, and a man who did things his own way. Jack will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 46 years, Patricia Murray Walsh Perlinger, whom he married on July 15, 1977; his children, Gary (Tanya) Walsh, Maureen W. (Stephen) Whitfield, Tricia Walsh, Cathy (Ron) Coles, John W. Perlinger and Cindy (Rick) Krampe; his grandchildren, Caitlin and Colin Whitfield, Ronnie Coles, Jackie (Steve) Bielich, Danny Coles and Tommy (Sydney) Coles; his great-grandchildren, Vivian and Harrison Bielich, Charlotte Coles and two on the way; his sister-in-law, Mickey Perlinger; many nieces and nephews, and his brothers and sisters in the IUOE Local 66.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacqueline; his brother, Bill Perlinger, and sister-in-law, Sally; and his brother, Jim Perlinger.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff and personnel at the Butler VA CLC for taking such exceptional care of Jack.
