Heckert

Susan (Thorhauer) Heckert, 69, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024.

She was born in Pittsburgh on April 23, 1954, to the late William and Monica (Reardon) Thorhauer.

Susan was known as the pillar of the family, being a great mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed going on cruises and reading.

Susan was the mother of Jennifer (Sean) Porter, John (Marsha) Blum, Matthew Blum and Philip Blum; sister of Katherine Hergenreder; grandmother of 17; and great-grandmother of seven and one on the way.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her nephew, Harry (Leeana) Hergenreder, and great-niece, Luna Hergenreder, for going above and beyond while taking care of her.

HECKERT — Services for Susan (Thorhauer) Heckert, who died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the funeral home toward services.
