Judith Sundquist
Judith “Judy” Sherman Sundquist, 62, of Valencia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, after a brief illness. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family during the last days of her life.
Judy was born in Pittsburgh on Aug. 25, 1961, to the late Donald and Elva Bennett Sherman. She graduated from Richland High school in 1979. After raising her three sons and earning two college degrees in St. Louis, Mo., Judy moved back to the Pittsburgh area to be closer to family.
She owned and operated a 7-Eleven on Neville Island for more than 10 years until retiring in 2017. After retiring, she would join the Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Company along with her husband, Drew. As a member of the fire company, Judy proudly served as fire police, secretary, vice president and president, and she was instrumental in running Community Days, Purse Bashes and many other events.
When Judy wasn’t organizing parties and bashes at the fire hall, she enjoyed hanging out with her sisters, driving her motorcycle, and singing, whether with the choir at First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, karaoke, or to her grandchildren. As much as she loved her husband, siblings, friends and sons, nothing gave her greater joy than her grandkids.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband, Drew; three sons (and spouses), Rick Anzelone, Dan Anzelone (Ashley) and Tim Anzelone (Nicole); two stepdaughters, Alicia Johnson (Jeremy) and Leeann Kuchta (Jaren); five grandchildren, Ava and Mary Charlotte Anzelone, Chester and Natalie Kuchta, and Dolores Johnson; along with three siblings, Tom Sherman, Sill Batykefer (Chuck) and Kathy Curtis (David.)
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Elva Sherman; and a brother, Donald P. Sherman Jr.
SUNDQUIST — A celebration of life will be held for Judith “Judy” Sherman Sundquist, who died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Company, 130 Browns Hill Road, Valencia.
