Lottery winner sought

Cash 5 ticket worth $800,000

SPRINGFIELD TWP, Mercer County — One lucky person recently bought a winning Pennsylvania Lottery ticket worth almost $1 million in the township.

The Country Fair, 1843 S. Center St. Ext., last week sold a Cash 5 ticket that will net the buyer $800,000, minus 25 percent federal withholdings. The ticket matched all five numbers — 03-12-16-22-26 — from Friday’s drawing, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery.

The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

A manager at the store Monday declined to comment.

Prizes must be claimed and tickets validated before the winners can be identified. Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

Cash 5 drawings are held every day.

This is not the first big prize to come from that region this year.

In February, Mary Fowler of Grove City bought a Match 6 Lotto ticket worth $2 million. She bought her ticket at the Rite Aid in Slippery Rock.

She was set to receive $1.5 million after taxes, and the store got $10,000 for selling the ticket.
