Jacob L. Detrie, 81, of Butler, passed away at UMPC Presbyterian Hospital on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024.

He was born on Feb. 2, 1943, in Venango Township to the late Levi Detrie and Ellen (Mahood) Detrie.

He is survived by his wife, Carol E. Michael Detrie, whom he married in May of 1980; two sons, John (Heidi) Detrie and Leroy (Sandy) Detrie; four grandchildren, Nicole Smith, Samuel Detrie, Brenden Detrie and Caitlyn Detrie; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half brother, Francis Detrie.

DETRIE — A visitation for Jacob L. Detrie, who died Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. A military service with full honors will then be held at 4 p.m. at the funeral home followed by a funeral service with Pastor David Maitland officiating.

Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
