Anna Joan Sarakon
Anna Joan Sarakon, 83, of Saxonburg died Thursday at Fair Winds Manor.
Born July 11, 1925, in West Natrona, she was the daughter of Vincent and Mary Bandik Bohdal.
She worked as a picker for Moonlight Mushrooms for 24 years and also was a nurses' aide at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
She was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church and the Smilin' Seniors at the church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Delmont (Lucille) Pardee of Stuarts Draft, Va., and Ms. Marie Hay of Saxonburg; two sisters, Mrs. Michael (Elizabeth) Mester of Lower Burrell and Mrs. Ernest (Josephine) Smith of Warren, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John James Sarakon; her parents; a brother, Joseph Bohdal; and two sisters, Helen and Margaret Bohdal.
<B>SARAKON</B> — Friends of Anna Joan Sarakon, who died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B> <B>Inc.</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dan Maurer officiating.
