Christina Gallagher
Christina F. Gallagher, 89, of Sarver, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024.
Christina was born in a small town in Czechoslovakia, on May 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Stephanie and Karl Ullmann. As a young girl, Christina and her family fled their home as Hitler and the Nazis came to power during World War II. They settled in Giessen, Germany.
She met her husband, Leroy J. Gallagher, while he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. They were married in 1953 and spent nearly 60 years together until his death in 2013.
Christina was employed as a press operator at Du-Co Ceramics for 20 years, retiring in 1997. She also had worked for some time at Moonlight Mushroom. Christina was an avid Steelers, Pirates, Penguins and Aaron Rodgers fan. She enjoyed doing word find puzzles, spending time with her family and especially attending all her grandkids’ activities.
Christina is survived by her son, Roy J. Gallagher; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly A. and John Dobransky, all of Buffalo Township; her grandkids, Nicholas Dobransky and Katlyn Dobransky; three brothers, Hoerst, Werner and Rudolf Ullmann, all of Germany; nephew, Harry A. “Butch” Gallagher; niece, Dianna Michael; and many more nieces and nephews in Europe.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Karl and Franz Ullmann; sisters, Elizabeth Bartell and Adelheid Schulze; niece, Sharon Wheeler; and nephew, James R. Gallagher.
GALLAGHER — A private family burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Freeport for Christina F. Gallagher, who died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orphans of the Storm, 11878 PA- 85, Kittanning, PA 16201.
