Janet Housekeeper
Janet Housekeeper, 73, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024, after a long battle with cancer, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
Born Sept. 4, 1950, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of John Auther and Frances (Cowen) Auther.
Janet graduated form Pine Richland High School in 1968. She was a licensed beautician and she and her husband were owners of the Star Grill for 18 years. She liked spending her winters in Florida, and she most enjoyed watching her grandchildren playing the sports they loved. She was their No. 1 fan.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Danny Housekeeper; daughters, Nicole (the late James) Edwards of Saxonburg and Danielle (Jeff) Mullen of Saxonburg; brother, John Auther of Gibsonia; sister, Jill (Mike) Smaretsky of Butler; four grandchildren, Kayla, Tyler, Chase and Codi; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jeffery Auther; and sister, Jackie Mimm.
HOUSEKEEPER — Friends of Janet Housekeeper, who died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m., with the Rev. Jared Townley of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot, officiating.
