Police: Parker man takes generator, found with GPS tracker

A GPS tracker attached to a stolen generator led state police to a Parker man’s home weeks after his release from prison in relation to another theft, court documents showed.

Anthony S. Carbin, 36, was charged with misdemeanors theft, trespassing and tampering with evidence Tuesday, Jan. 2, in relation to a theft at a well pad in Parker Township on Dec. 10.

Police responded to the well pad on Kittanning Pike around 10 p.m. and spoke with employees, who disclosed there had been issues with theft on the property.

Due to the other thefts, employees said a GPS tracker was placed on a generator that was stolen that night, and it was located at an address in Parker.

The address led police to Carbin’s home, documents showed. Carbin said he was responsible for the theft, and the generator was recovered, police said.

This is the second theft in two months Carbin has been accused of. On Nov. 16, Carbin was charged with felony theft of a catalytic converter and placed in Butler County Prison. He posted the $30,000 bail a day later.

In the latest case, Carbin was placed in Butler County Prison on Jan. 5 in lieu of $100,000 bail, with conditions for house arrest should he be released.
