A Parker woman is facing charges after police said she identified as her sister while police performed sobriety testing.

Jolena Elizabeth Bowser, 47, was charged following an incident on June 19 with third-degree felony identity theft, as well as three counts of misdemeanor driving under the influence of a controlled substance and one count each of misdemeanor false identification to law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while under a suspended license.

State police said around 2:30 a.m., they spotted a man slouched over in a vehicle driven by Bowser at the Petrolia Mini-Mart. After an officer knocked on the window and the man barely lifted his head, police found Bowser inside the building, where she identified herself by her sister’s name.

Police said a field sobriety test was issued and Bowser was arrested.

According to police, Bowser was taken to the hospital and given a blood test, which came back positive for fentanyl, methamphetamine and other controlled substances.

Police said Bowser used her sister’s name, social security number, date of birth and address in the incident.

Bowser’s preliminary hearing has yet to be scheduled.
