George Visnesky Jr.
George W. Visnesky Jr., 71, of Ford City, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, in the comfort of his home.
Born March 11, 1952, he was a son of the late George W. Visnesky Sr. and Velma (Stephens) Visnesky.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion. George retired from Freeport Transport, where he was employed as a mechanic.
A devout Catholic, he was a faithful member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, where he sang in both the parish choir and funeral choir. He enjoyed music, gardening, traveling in his camper, doing puzzles and being with his dogs and cat. Most important to George, though, was his family — he lived his whole life for them.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia (Frerotte) Visnesky; his daughter, Elizabeth Visnesky of Natrona Heights; two sisters, Velma (Stanley) Heffner of Kittanning and Debra Visnesky (companion, Mark Zielinski) of Kittanning; a brother, Theodore Visnesky of Kittanning; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gail and Larry Miloser; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Visnesky.
