Thomas Boyle Logan, 77, of Pine Township, Gibsonia, passed away on Wednesday evening, Jan. 3, 2024, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born in Pittsburgh, on April 19, 1946, he was the son of Alva Crawford and Mary Boyle Logan.

He had served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Tom graduated from Richland High School and later received a Bachelor of Science in education from Duquesne University and his Master’s in Library Science from Edinboro University. He taught at the University of the Americas in Mexico City, and then operated a charter boat service in Isla Mujeres for five years.

He went into college textbook sales for Allyn & Bacon and Little, Brown and Company. He also worked at the North Park Boathouse and the Paddle Tennis Courts in North Park. Tom then was caregiver for his parents during their final years with dementia.

Surviving are his sister, Betty Fotta of Valencia; and his brothers, Fred Logan and his wife, Peg, of New Hope, Pa., and Rick and David Logan, both of Gibsonia; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

LOGAN — Friends of Thomas Boyle Logan, who died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Alva and Mary Logan.
