Joan M. Campbell
Joan McCarrier Campbell, 78, of Butler died Tuesday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 7, 1930, in West Sunbury, the daughter of the late Frank McCarrier and the late Martha (Hazlett) McCarrier Johnson.
Joan was affiliated with First United Methodist Church of Butler. She was a devout Christian who enjoyed the word of God.
She graduated from Edinboro University in 1959 with a degree in art education. She was an art teacher for the Moniteau schools and Karns City Junior High.
She collected pigs and enjoyed reading and watching Zane Grey westerns and gardening. She dearly loved her cat, Queenie and dog, Duke.
Surviving are two daughters, Lori L. Campbell of Butler and Heidi S. Campbell-Shoaf and her husband, Dana, of Burkittsville, Md.
Her husband, James D. Campbell, who she married June 7, 1959, died June 27, 2005. She also was preceded in death by a baby daughter, Marty Jo; a foster sister, Nancy Boyd; and a brother, Richard Lynn McCarrier.
