Marian Corvin
Marian Luella Corvin, 91, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Renfrew, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023.
Born Nov. 25, 1932, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late William and Luella (Sellman) Perlik.
After graduating from Allegheny High School in 1950, Marian worked at the Lincoln Insurance Company as an administrative assistant, and she later worked at Gumto Greenhouses and Agway Garden Center in Renfrew. She was a former member of North Street Christian Church in Butler and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Evans City, where she also served as a secretary. She volunteered at the Evans City Ladies Auxiliary.
She loved lake fishing and surf fishing at the ocean with her family. She belonged to the neighborhood card club and remained a sharp card player into her 90s. She enjoyed music and singing. She joined in singing Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” at her 90th birthday party, and she traveled to New York City to see Tony Bennett live at the Apollo Theater. She enjoyed gardening, her home was always filled with indoor and outdoor plants. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered as a hard worker and a great cook, known for her sweet potato casserole.
Marian leaves behind to cherish her memory her two children, Valerie Druschel (Rick Jr.) and Christi Shoup (Jason); and her two grandchildren, Jacob and Sarah Shoup. She will be deeply missed by her brother, William Perlik; her godson; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Douglas W. Corvin Jr.; and her son, Douglas W. Corvin III. She will also have a heavenly reunion with her sister, Joan Dunn; and brothers, Gary and Dennis Perlik.
Marian gave from her heart to others with grace, kindness and compassion. She was a devoted wife and mother who never hesitated to make sacrifices for her loved ones.
CORVIN — Friends of Marian Luella Corvin, who died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. Friday at BOYLAN-GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. A dinner will be held following the service at Pomodoro's, 2572 Brandt School Road, Wexford.
Marian will be laid to rest at the United Cemeteries in Pittsburgh.
