Arthur Pflugh
Arthur Richard Pflugh, 92, of Butler, passed away on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
He was born on Oct. 16, 1931, in Franklin Township, to the late Carl A. Pflugh and the late Marie E. Klepper Pflugh.
Arthur was a member of (Church of God Prophecy) Family Life Ministries. He worked as a meat cutter and manager at SHOP ‘n SAVE in Gibsonia until retiring in 1996. Arthur was associated with Clearview Pro Hardware. He was a member of the UFCW Union Local 23. Arthur was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in England for two years during the Korean War. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
He is survived by one son, the Rev. Donald B. and his wife, Ann K. Pflugh, of Butler; one daughter, Kathleen L. and her husband, Robert M. Sloan, of Butler; six grandchildren, Melissa, Lucas and Jacob Pflugh, Nathaniel Sloan, Amanda Sloan Angiolieri and Katie Sloan Collins; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Simmons of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Janet L. Plyer Pflugh, who passed away on March 13, 1994; one sister, Audrey Bable; and two brothers, Carl Pflugh and Ronnie Pflugh.
PFLUGH — A memorial service for Arthur Richard Pflugh, who died Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Family Life Ministries (Church of God of Prophecy), 932 Mercer Road, Butler, with Pastor Robert Hile Jr. officiating.
Arrangements were entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Drive Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or Grane Hospice Care, 260 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
A private burial will take place at Summit Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
