2:30 a.m. Wednesday — Megan Joy Kernicky, 29, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting her 49-year-old mother, Diane Kernicky, during a domestic dispute at Diane Kernicky's home on Mackey Avenue. The defendant was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,000 bail.Wednesday — Police said they obtained an arrest warrant for Heather McElravey, 28, of Butler who is accused of stealing her mother's bank card and using it to make 19 unauthorized transactions totaling $3,095.McElravey used the card between Aug. 23 and 31 to withdraw money and make purchases in and out of state. Police said the suspect faces a felony charge of access device fraud.9:58 a.m. Friday — Joseph McKain IV, 38, of Center Township suffered minor injuries when he stepped in front of a car at Jefferson and McKean streets.Police said McKain was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital, and released. Regina Johns, 38, of Petrolia was driving the car.

8:48 p.m. Tuesday — Several people were hurt when vehicles driven by Dolores Natali, 77, and John Ferguson, 48, both of Butler, collided on Route 356 at Butler Commons. Police said the injuries were minor and no one had to be taken to the hospital.9:05 a.m. Tuesday — A wayward bear ran into the side of a car traveling on Center Avenue. Warren Fox, 76, of New Kensington, Westmoreland County, who was driving the car, was not hurt. The bear, police said, was last seen running into a corn field.
