5:57 p.m. Saturday Michelle Frye, 21, of Butler is accused of shoplifting $141 in cosmetics at the Kmart store in Pullman Square. Frye is charged with retail theft.
9:01 p.m. Saturday Joseph Hockenberry, 43, of Lyndora was arrested for driving under the influence after a hit-and-run crash on Route 8 at Greater Butler Mart.The crash occurred when Hockenberry's truck hit a car and drove away. Officers spotted the truck moments later and stopped it.In addition to DUI and hit-and-run, the suspect is charged with driving with a suspended license, failure to give information and render aid after an accident, driving without insurance and a left turn violation.1:24 a.m. Saturday Stefan Grandelis, 43, of Butler was arrested for DUI at Route 8 and Bean Road. He also was cited for a lighting violation.8 p.m. Friday An unknown thief stole two DVD players and a global positioning system unit from a sport utility vehicle parked behind the Farmer's National Bank at Bon Aire Plaza. The theft occurred between 1 and 8 p.m. The thief smashed out a window to get in the SUV.
6:20 p.m. Sunday An 11-year-old girl was hurt when the mini all-terrain vehicle she was driving crashed on Vidic Road in Clay Township. The child, who police did not identify, was flown by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.The girl, who was wearing a helmet, suffered unknown injuries when she lost control of the ATV, slid of the road and hit the edge of a stream. She was thrown off the vehicle.4:30 p.m. Thursday Stanley B. Garing, 51, of Butler swerved his pickup to avoid a stopped vehicle and struck a tree along Route 8 near Mercer Road in Center Township. Garing was cited for driving too fast for conditions.March 31 Someone stole 50 pine trees from a home on Duffy School Road in Donegal Township. The theft occurred between March 24 and 31.
7:37 p.m. Sunday Ryan L. Hess, 27, of Curwensville was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 422 in North Buffalo Township.
5:05 p.m. Monday A 17-year-old Grove City girl, who police did not identify, was cited for following too closely to another vehicle after her car struck the rear of another car on Route 58 in Pine Township.Terry L. Whitman, 46, of Jackson Center, the other driver, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries.
