Leslie Edinboro
Leslie F. Edinboro, 91, of Erie, formerly of West Sunbury, passed away at Sarah Reed Senior Living in Erie on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023.
Born on Dec. 28, 1931, in Cherry Township, Leslie was the son of the late Ernest G. and Grace Ruth (McGarrah) Edinboro.
Leslie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean conflict. He retired from Armco Steel in Butler, having worked there for 37½ years. He was a former member of the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church and West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department.
Leslie spent many hours handcrafting wooden items, such as his wooden life-size Santa reindeer and elves to guide them, and wooden tractors and fire trucks for the grandchildren.
Leslie is survived by one daughter, Barbara M. Davis of Edinboro, Pa.; one son, Leslie E. (Trish) Edinboro of Glen Allen, Va.; four grandchildren, Dustin and Christopher Davis and Halle and Dolan Edinboro; three great-grandchildren Zachary, Charlie and Elizabeth Davis; one brother, Kenneth Edinboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Leslie was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Mae Campbell Edinboro, whom he married on Sept. 16, 1953, and who passed away on Sept. 17, 2022; one brother, Ernest W. Edinboro; son-in-law, Duane Davis; and sister-in-law, Helen (Wilson) Edinboro.
EDINBORO — Family and friends of Leslie F. Edinboro, who died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, will be received for visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Karen Thompson, Leslie’s niece, officiating. Private burial will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to the West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 143, West Sunbury, PA 16061.
