Mabel Mae (Smith) Pavlik, 100, of Ford City, passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at Kittanning Care Center, Kittanning.

Born Nov. 17, 1922, in East Brady, she was the daughter of the late Harry Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Eck) Smith.

Mabel has been a resident of the Ford City area since 1942. She was employed as a waitress during World War II, Kittanning Leather Shop for eight years and then at the PPG plant in Ford City, in the prism department, making prisms for tanks until the war ended. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Cadogan, and prior to that was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, John Pavlik, who passed away Sept. 12, 2001; daughters, Karen Morrow and Lisa Pavlik; four brothers, Raymond, Harold, William and John “Dewey” Smith; and sisters, Ruth E. Smith, Nellie (Smith) Sharpe and Ordela (Smith) Craig. She was the last surviving child of eight children and was the fifth born.

Mabel is survived by a son, Dennis (Ericka) Pavlik of Murrysville; a daughter, Janice Pavlik; grandchildren, Bradley John Pavlik, Donovan P. Pavlik, Joel Morrow and Kristen Morrow; four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Garrett, Adalyn and Bella; son-in-law, Larry Morrow; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.

PAVLIK — Visitation for Mabel Mae (Smith) Pavlik, who died Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, will be from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at MANTINI FUNERAL HOME, 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, First Street, Cadogan, with the Very Rev. Eric Dinga as officiant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
