Freeport grad Lampus aids volleyball win

NEW WILMINGTON — Freeport graduate and Westminster College women’s volleyball senior Lauren Lampus tallied 13 kills and seven digs in the Titans’ 3-0 win over Thiel on Wednesday night.

Westminster improved to 14-11 overall, 4-4 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference play.

SR graduate Lewis shines for Titans

NEW WILMINGTON — Slippery Rock High School graduate and Westminster College women’s soccer sophomore Amanda Lewis scored a pair of goals Wednesday in the Titans’ 5-2 win over Bethany.

Lewis has five goals on the year for Westminster (14-3, 8-2).

Mars grad Lisman nears GCC record

GROVE CITY — Mars graduate and Grove City College junior women’s soccer goalkeeper Courtney Lisman is within one win of tying the program record for career victories.

The Wolverines’ 2-1 win over Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday was the 33rd of her career. The program record is 34, set by Katy Turman in 2002.

SV graduate Rea scores for Rock

EDINBORO — Seneca Valley graduate Ashley Rea scored a goal in Slippery Rock University’s 3-2 women’s soccer win over Edinboro on Wednesday night.

The victory was the sixth in a row for The Rock (11-3-2, 10-2-2).

Brown, Johnston bring home upsets

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Aaron Johnston of Evans City and Brady Brown of Slippery Rock drove horses to major upset wins Thursday during harness racing action at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Johnston drove Yen Hanover to victory against 53-1 odds in a $9,000 Conditioned Trot. Brown drove Run Run Elegant to victory against 32-1 odds in an $8,500 Conditioned Claiming Trot.

In Wednesday action, Brown drove Jogging Full Trot to victory in a $12,500 Conditioned Trot.
