Ronald S. "Red" Beichner, 74, of Butler passed away Wednesday.

He was born April 24, 1936, in Strattanville, Clarion County, the son of the late Clement A. and Florence (Schmader) Beichner.

Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge in Clarion.

He liked playing video games on the computer, gambling, playing musical instruments and watching his grandsons play baseball.

Ron retired from Penn Hardware and from Montgomery Ward in the sales department. He also had worked for the Widenhofer Garage.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Mary V. (Armagost) Beichner; two daughters, Rhonda (Paul) Geist of Slippery Rock and Dianne Beichner of Slippery Rock; two sons, Bruce (Shirley) Beichner of Rimersburg and Michael (Sharon) Beichner of Butler; seven grandchildren, David (Jodi) Beichner of New Kensington, Mindy (Jeff) Melton of Zelienople, Chris Beichner in the U.S. Navy in Afghanistan, Sarah Beichner of Rimersburg, Angela Beichner of Butler, Will Beichner of Butler and Steven Beichner of Butler; a sister, Jane Daum of Tionesta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Clement Beichner, who died Sept. 18, 2006; two sisters; and two brothers.

<B>BEICHNER</B> — Friends of Ronald S. "Red" Beichner, who died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, will be received at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W.
