Leola Jane (Wood) Romano, 92, Jane to all who knew her, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at UH Geauga Medical Center, Chardon, Ohio.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1930, in Saxonburg, the youngest of five children born to William Jennings and Mildred Leola Wood.

Jane especially loved sewing, baking and square dancing, and was a prolific reader and avid golfer, bowler and card player.

Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Peter J. Romano of Butler; and daughter-in-law, Kathy (Bruce).

She is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by her four sons, Joseph (Sally) of North Carolina, Bruce and Philip (Susan) of Ohio and Michael (Robbin) of Wyoming. She had 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her nieces, nephews and friends.

ROMANO — A private memorial Mass for Leola Jane (Wood) Romano, who died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, will be planned at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chardon, Ohio, at a later date.
