Anthony Sequite
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Anthony “Tony” Sequite, 88, a lifelong resident of Butler. He passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at Butler Health System.
He was born in Butler, on April 21, 1935, to the late Anthony and Lena (Dickey) Sequite.
He was Protestant in faith and belonged to the First English Lutheran Church of Butler. Tony attended Butler High School and played tight end and kicker in football. He loved and served his country in the Korean War with the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.
Tony was an avid bowler and golfer, participating in several competitive leagues in the area. He loved watching sports, especially the Steelers and Penguins. Tony was a self-employed barber for over 64 years, enjoying his customers as friends. He was a life member of the VFW Post 249 and belonged to the American Legion Post 117 in Butler.
Tony met the love of his life, Tillie J. (Barber) Warren Sequite, whom he was married to for over 51 years. They shared a beautiful life together and cherished their three sons and four grandchildren. He left a profound impact and lasting warmth on those that knew him.
Tony is survived by his wife Tillie J. Sequite; three sons, Thomas (Bridget) Warren, Todd (Teresa) Warren and Terrence “Tuck” (Noelle) Sequite; four grandchildren, Zach, Tyson, Reese and Tucker; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank their special friend, Bill Spohn, and all his golf buddies.
SEQUITE — Family and friends of Anthony “Tony” Sequite, who died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. Full military honors and a funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First English Lutheran Church of Butler.
