Constance M. Daltorio
Constance M. "Connie" Daltorio, 93, of Beckford Street, New Castle, died Saturday morning at the St. Johns Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Connie was born in New Castle on Sept. 29, 1916, to Casimire Balin and Michalina Balcewicz.
Connie lived her whole life in New Castle and was married to Nicholas L. Daltorio for 54 years until his passing in 1989.
She became a teacher at the New Castle School of Trades for many years, and later, she also became a cook at the Lawrence County Jail in addition to being a homemaker.
Connie was a Catholic and was a member of the Mary Martha Guild of St. Joseph the Worker Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jerome E. Daltorio of Jupiter, Fla., and Nicholas S. Daltorio of New Castle; a daughter, Barbara M. Tawney of Manchester, N.H.; and a sister, Healy Koszela of New Castle.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Stanley Balin.
<B>Daltorio</B> — Calling hours for Constance M. "Connie" Daltorio, who died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Noga Funeral Home</B>, 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vitus Church. Father John Petrarulo will officiate, and entombment will be in Castleview Mausoleum in New Castle.
