Ralph A. Westerman III

Ralph A. Westerman, III, 59, of Natrona Heights, died Friday at his residence while in the company of family members.

Mr. Westerman was born Sept. 19, 1948, in Butler, the son of Ralph A. "Sonny" and Marilyn Cunningham Westerman Jr. of Buffalo Township.

He was a member of Freeport United Presbyterian Church.

Ralph attended Freeport High School where he excelled in both academics and athletics, then graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy's predatory school, N.A.P.S., where he again excelled in academics and athletics. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy.

He was employed as a warehouse manager at Great Gifts in McKeesport for 19 years. He retired in 2007. Previously, Ralph worked at his family's store, Waterman's True Value in Buffalo Township for more than 15 years.

Ralph was a member of the Armstrong Lodge 239 in Freeport, a former member of the White Star Club and the Freeport Eagles and a baseball coach in the Colt and Pony Leagues in Freeport for many years.

He enjoyed playing cards, watching sports, doing yard work and going on vacations to the beach.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 24 years, Patricia Mohney Westerman; his son, Cory B. (Amy) Westerman and their four children, of Newman, Ga.; his sister, Jody (Henry) Dolemyer of Buffalo Township; his brother Ernie (Karen) Westerman of Butler; his sister-in-law, Kim Westerman of Cheswick; two brothers-in-law, Tim (Mary) Mohney of Cranberry, and Joe Mohney of Gilpin Township; six sisters-in-law, Maureen Dahman of Atlanta, Kim (Robert) Holbein of Buffalo Township, Mary Jo Olson of North Apollo, Susan Jimmerson of Atlanta, Kay Walser of Dallas, Texas, and Dawn (Tim) Ayers of Cartersville, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michal Westerman.

Westerman III, who died Friday, July 18, 2008, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the <B>REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC.</B>, 524 High St., Freeport.A Masonic service will held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Freeport United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Mumaw officiating.
