Board accepts resignation of Dassa McKinney principal
CHERRY TWP — The Moniteau School Board Monday night accepted the resignation of Brenda Knoll, principal of Dassa McKinney Elementary School.
Knoll has worked for the district for 19 years and has been the Dassa McKinney principal this school year.
She was the assistant principal at the school for the 2013-2014 school year. Before that she was the assistant principal at Moniteau High School.
“I’ll miss her personally and professionally,” said Superintendent George Svolos.
“Her heart has always been for the betterment of our kids first and foremost.”
Svolos said Knoll will leave the district to be a principal in the Karns City School District.
“They are getting a fine person and administrator,” Svolos said.
“She did a lot for this school district,” said board member Trixie Heck. “She stepped up to the plate when we needed her.”
Heck said Knoll was a teacher, department head and administrator, worked with clubs, coached sports and served on the negotiating committee for the teacher’s contract.
“She’s worn many hats and done every job with fidelity, character and expertise,” said board member Michael Panza.
The school board approved posting for an elementary principal position.
