Joseph T. Codispot, 73, of Lyndora passed away Sunday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Butler, May 28, 1935, he was the son of the late Theodore and Antonette Acquaviva Codispot.

He was retired from Montgomery Ward, where he had worked as a warehouse manager.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora and the Slovak Club.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Straynick Codispot, to whom he was married for 50 years; three sons, Gary J. Codispot of Saxonburg, Brian T. Codispot of Saxonburg and Randy L. Codispot of Lyndora; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Diana) McCandless of Prospect; one sister, Mary Codispot of Butler; two brothers, Michael Codispot and Theodore Codispot, both of Butler; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

<B>CODISPOT</B> — Friends of Joseph T. Codispot, who died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michael Cemetery.Members of the Lyndora American Legion Post 778 and the VFW Post 249 will conduct a military ritual at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the VNA, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
