John Wilbur Suchy, 98, formerly of Butler, passed away peacefully July 31 in Chapel Hill, N.C., after several years of declining health.

He was born in Butler, Oct. 27, 1910.

John was a member of St. John's Byzantine Church of Lyndora.

He was an avid sportsman and was a member of the Hill Sportsmen's Club of Lyndora for many years.

He lived in Oak Hills before moving to North Carolina in 1997.

John is survived by his daughter, Nancy Suchy Clark, who lives in Chapel Hill, N.C.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Sadlak Suchy, in 2008; and by his son, Robert John Suchy, in 1961.

<B>SUCHY</B> — A funeral service for John Wilbur Suchy, who died Friday, July 31, 2009, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at Butler County Memorial Park.There will be a reception after the service at the Fairfield Inn, 200 Fairfield Lane, Butler.
