David M. Johnston, 58, of Butler died Friday at the Butler Memorial Hospital emergency room.

Born Jan. 31, 1952, in Butler, he was the son of the late Andrew and Phyllis (Davis) Johnston.

David was a member of the U. S. Trotting Association. He loved horses and enjoyed landscaping.

He worked at Butler Farm Market.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia A. (Rodwanski) Johnston; a daughter, Serena Johnston of Butler; four sisters, Phyllis Mulneix of Lyndora, Diane (Robert) Eva of Chicora, Marjorie Lynn (David) Risner of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Andrea (Chris) Silverio of Chicora; two brothers, William (Carol) Johnston of Canonsburg, and Richard (Joey) Johnston of Salt Lake City, Utah; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
