Wednesday — Police charged two Butler men after they were allegedly linked to a pair of counterfeit $20 bills.Timothy Claypoole, 32, reported that he received the bogus bills from Michael Chute, 30. Claypoole, police said, gave the counterfeit currency to another person, who tried to use them to buy items at a city grocery store.Claypoole and Chute are charged with forgery in the case.
10:26 a.m. Thursday — Christopher Bable, 42, of Portersville reported that someone took construction tools from his truck in the upper parking lot of Butler Memorial Hospital near the helicopter pad sometime Monday night. The tools are valued at $2,900.8:20 a.m. Thursday — Melinda McConnell, 32, of Butler lost control of her minivan on Route 8 near Cooledge Street. The van hit an embankment and rolled on its side. McConnell was taken out of the van through a side window by several officers. She had minor injuries.
3:59 p.m. Thursday — Cars driven by Kyle Kunselman, 18, of Butler and Wesley Aspinall, 28, of Chicora collided at Route 38 and Hohn Road in Center Township. Police said Kunselman was cited for a stop sign violation.9:15 a.m. Thursday — A payloader driven by Carl W. Mauerer, 51, of Fredonia, Mercer County, and a sport utility vehicle driven by Darlene R. Miller, 41, of Slippery Rock collided on Crestview Road at the entrance to Allegheny Mineral in Slippery Rock Township. Miller was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.8:25 a.m. Thursday — An SUV driven by Ericha McLaughlin, 21, of Mercer spun out of control and hit a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.11:45 p.m. Wednesday — Kenneth Muller, 45, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Pillow Street in Butler.11:34 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Brooke Conley, 28, of Monaca, Beaver County, slid on ice and rolled over into the median on I-79 in Cranberry Township. Conley was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry with minor injuries.1:50 p.m. Wednesday — An SUV driven by Laura Ororke, 40, of Butler and a truck driven by Dennis C. Montgomery, 47, of Butler collided on Dinnerbell Road and Route 8 in Penn Township. Montgomery suffered a minor injury.Wednesday — Someone between 9:20 and 11 p.m. stole two checks and a debit card from a woman's home on Muddy Creek Drive in Clay Township.11:49 p.m. Saturday — Brandon McGuire, 22, of Apollo, Armstrong County, was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Route 108 and Arrowhead Drive in Slippery Rock Township.
