Thomas G. Sanderson

Thomas George Sanderson, 67, of Slippery Rock died at 5:30 a.m. Friday at Kindred Hospital, Pittsburgh, after an extended illness.

Born in Slippery Rock, March 21, 1941, he was the son of the late Homer Clyde Sanderson and the late Helen Marie Hilgar Sanderson.

Mr. Sanderson, a retired grocery store manager in Slippery Rock, had managed the Slippery Rock A&P, which became Giant Eagle, for more than 18 years. He also managed Value King in Slippery Rock for more than seven years.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his companion, Virginia Isenberg of Slippery Rock; a daughter and her husband, Teri L. and Christopher Hensel of Newfoundland, Pa.; and a son and his wife, Thomas R. and Vicky Sanderson of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Autumn M. Allison, Thomas D. Sanderson, James D. Sanderson, Travis Clyde Sanderson and Ashley E. Hensel.
