Joseph M. Serventi Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, at the age of 83.

Born and raised in Butler, after graduating from Butler High School, Joe joined the U.S. Navy. After serving four years in the Navy, Joe returned to Butler and started a 60-plus year career as a bar and restaurant owner in the Butler area.

He is survived by his son, Anthony; grandsons, Joseph (Jess), Dominic and Anthony Serventi; and sister, Marianne Atkinson (nee Serventi).

He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph M. Serventi Jr.

SERVENTI — A funeral Mass for Joseph M. Serventi Sr., who died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at All Saints Parish, St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, support.woundedwarriorproject.org, or to your favorite charity.
