Dean Harry Cochran
Dean Harry Cochran, a Springdale native, passed away Wednesday from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
He was born in Newton Falls, Ohio, in 1928, to the late Harry C. and Vida Reefer Cochran. He was a 1946 graduate of Springdale High School, where he was an outstanding basketball player.
Dean earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1958. He was employed by West Penn Power/Allegheny Energy for 44 years, during which time he won several awards and gained recognition for his devoted service as a division sales representative. He worked in the Springdale, Butler and Waynesburg offices until his retirement in 1991.
Dean was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Elks, serving as an exalted ruler while living in Waynesburg.
He was an avid golfer and hunter all of his life.
Dean is survived by his wife, Nancy Paterline Cochran of Springdale; one daughter, Deann Buffington of Lititz; and two sons Keith (Mary Mazziotti) Cochran and Todd Cochran, both of Pittsburgh.
<B>COCHRAN</B> — Friends of Dean Harry Cochran, who died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOME</B>, 801 Pittsburgh St., Springdale, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday.
