John Branchen Jr., 70, of Valencia, died on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023.

Born in Pittsburgh, on Dec. 25, 1952, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Harris Branchen.

John was a utility worker for Peoples Natural Gas for many years. Being with his family was most important to John, especially family beach vacations and seeing grandchildren at their many events growing up. He enjoyed walking his dogs, riding his bike and going to the gym. Mostly, John enjoyed talking to people and making friends. He loved high school sports, especially football where he would often travel to see the best games each Friday night.

John was the beloved husband for 49 years of Karen Hohman Branchen; loving father of Heidi Kline (Jeff) and Scott Branchen; brother of Sue Smith (Grover), Vicki Kasunich (Steve), Alan Branchen (Julie), Darryl Branchen (Terri) and the late Kim Branchen; and proud grandfather of Corrine and Avery Kline.

BRANCHEN — Friends of John Branchen Jr., who died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, where services will be held at 8 p.m. following visitation.
