Shirley Marie Swick, 87, of Sugarcreek Township, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, at Sugar Creek Rest after a lengthy illness.

She was born March 7, 1936, in Clarion, to the late Henry and Sarah Schimp.

Shirley worked in the auxiliary at ACMH Hospital, and was a nurse’s aide at Sugar Creek Rest and the ACMH Hospital. She also was a waitress at Bonello’s and the Cadet.

She was a member of Nevin Memorial United Church of Christ.

Shirley enjoyed church activities; she loved the beach and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also loved playing bingo and 500 rummy. She loved watching her favorite Westerns, swimming in her pool with her grandchildren, picnics in her backyard with family, camping in their trailer at Tionesta, cooking and baking.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Samuel O. Swick; her sons, Joe Swick and Dave (Sue) Swick; her daughters, Pamela (Curt) Toy and Terri (Brian) Oddo; her grandchildren, Jodi (Bernie) Murphy, Erica (Daniel) Dupuis, Lauren Oddo, Kelsey Toy and fiancé Scott Hern, Bryant Oddo and fiancée Mackenzie Garrison, Derrick (Jenn) Knox and Dwight (Joanne) Knox; her great-grandchildren, Maddison Watterson, Avah Murphy, Kelsie Knox, Allison Knox, Jonathan Knox, Jacob Knox, Isabel Dupuis and Remington Knox; and her great-great-grandchildren, Kallum Knox and Weston Knox.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Sarah Schimp; and two brothers, Robert and John Schimp.

SWICK — Friends of Shirley Marie Swick, who died Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning.

There will be additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Community Church, 2167 State Route 268, Chicora, with the Rev. Frank Sapp Jr. officiating.

The family request that memorial donations be made to the Nevin Memorial UCC, Attn: Paula Gilliland, 10704 State Route 66, Clarion, PA 16214.
