Donna G. Steiner, 87, of Sligo, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, at Jefferson Manor in Brookville surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 9, 1936, in East Brady, and was the daughter of David and Mabel (Sigworth) McKinney.

Donna graduated in 1954 from East Brady High School, where she was Miss East Brady and participated in the Laurel Festival Queen pageant in Wellsboro, Pa. She was a 50-year member of the Rebecca’s and Eastern Stars of Clarion. Donna was a bookkeeper for Heeter Lumber Co. of Sligo for 28 years. She was an avid reader, and she enjoyed putting together puzzles and having teasing discussions with her grandchildren about “Dr. Phil” episodes. Donna was known for her baking, and her family will miss her potato salad, macaroni salad and sweet tea.

She is survived by her children (one son and three daughters): Robert D. Steiner and his wife, Cathy, of Brookville and their children, Justin Steiner (Emily) of Minneapolis and Erin Bucci (Joe) and their daughter, Josephine of Merchantville, N.J.; Lori K. Carrier and husband, Ricky, and their son, Christopher Carrier (Kristen) and children, Landon, Raegan, Gracelyn, Devan and Kathryn of Roaring Spring; Lynn D. Pollock and husband, Mark, of Sligo and their children, Ronald Pollock (Abigail) and Brenton Pollock, all of Oil City; and Nancy J. Ritenour and husband, Daniel, of Renfrew and her daughter, Katherine Fulmer of Tyrone. Donna is survived by her bonus sons, Jonathan Ritenour of Sarver and Travis Ritenour of Butler; and her brother, Richard McKinney (Patricia) of Tuscon, Ariz.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Dean A. Steiner, whom she married on Sept. 22, 1956, and who passed away on Oct. 12, 2012; her brothers, Eugene McKinney and Tom McKinney; her twin brother, David McKinney; a sister, Sarah “Sal” Summerville; and two infant sisters, Barbara Ann McKinney and Ruth Doris McKinney.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the administration and staff at Jefferson Court and Clarion Forest VNA Hospice.

STEINER — Family and friends of Donna G. Steiner, who died Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at BAUER-HILLIS FUNERAL HOME, 758 Main St., Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Pollock officiating.

Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Sligo.
