Richard L. “Rick” Bold, 51, of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023, at ACMH Hospital.

He was born Oct. 10, 1971, in Pittsburgh, to Peggy E. (Gale) Hay and the late Richard B. Bold.

Rick was a passionate Steelers and Penguins fan. He loved animals and enjoyed playing in pool leagues and coaching baseball. Rick was hardworking, stubborn, reliable and a great heavy-equipment operator at Phil Hay and Sons. He also adored his kids.

He is survived by his mother, Peggy E. Hay; his stepfather, Phil Hay; two sons, Joshua Carlisle and Jordan (Katie) Bold; brother, Drew (Gretchen) Hay; nephew, Niven Hay; niece, Maddy Hay; and his ex-wife, Virginia (Ginny) Bold.

BOLD — Friends of Richard L. “Rick” Bold, who died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Lyndon Fowler officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
