Marjorie Louise Jacox, 86, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Butler, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023.

She was born in Butler, Oct. 10, 1936, a daughter of the late Eugene Gallagher and Gertrude (Brandt) Gallagher.

Marjorie was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church; St. Paul’s Christian Mothers; Christian Mothers of St. Mary’s Church in Herman; and the Yarn Spinners.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn L. (Sean) Engel, of Mount Lebanon, and Patti (Neil) Kinser, of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, Sophie Anna Engel and Elena Marie Engel, both of Mount Lebanon, and Karissa Kinser and Branden Kinser, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Father Cyrus Gallagher, OFM Cap., of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joseph Gallagher, of Tucson, Ariz.; and two sisters, Ruth Sanders and Carol White, both of Butler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Albert M. Jacox Jr.; and her son, Stephen A. Jacox.

JACOX — Friends of Marjorie Louise Jacox, who died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Her brother, Father Cyrus Gallagher, OFM Cap., will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, Herman.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., Butler, PA 16001.
