Butler Downtown is seeking nominations of businesses, homeowners, or neighborhood groups who have helped to beautify and improve downtown.

To receive the Downtown Beautification Award, the individual or group should have made an “extra effort” between January 2010 and now to improve a property by remodeling, painting, landscaping or maintaining the building or surrounding property, according to a news release from Butler Downtown.

The award is not a competition, but an effort to recognize those who are contributing to the revitalization of that area.

“Over the last year or so, a lot of remodeling has taken place in our downtown,” said Steve Newcaster, Butler Downtown design committee chair, in the release

“We want to thank all the owners who have made improvements to their properties, and hope that groups, businesses and property owners will also nominate themselves for this award.”

Each submission will be judged by members of the design committee, and the award will be presented at group’s annual public meeting on Nov. 16 at Butler’s Grand Ballroom.

Nomination forms can be found at ButlerDowntown.org, and must be returned by Oct. 3.
