10:24 p.m. Monday — Michael J. Wolfe, 45, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Benbrook Road. Wolfe also was cited for careless driving.8:18 p.m. Friday — Dannielle Meneely, 18, of Butler and a 14-year-old Butler boy are accused of working together to conceal or remove merchandise at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons without paying full retail value.Police charged both suspects with retail theft. Meneely also is charged with corruption of minors and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

2:53 a.m. Tuesday — Warren James Green, 24, of Summit Township was arrested after he allegedly broke out a window and entered an apartment building on West Jefferson Street.Police found him inside the building, where he claimed he had gone to get his cell phone charger at a woman's apartment.He was arraigned on charges of trespass and criminal trespass, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.Officers a day earlier arrested Green after he allegedly caused a disturbance at an apartment building on South Chestnut Street.Police about 6:45 p.m. found Green nearby. The defendant, who appeared under the influence, allegedly admitted he had taken a prescription drug and alcohol.Officers also found him with a suspected crack pipe. Green is charged in that case with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.Tuesday — Jared Welty, 25, of Allison Park, Allegheny County, was arraigned on charges he forged and cashed two stolen checks owned by his former Butler landlord.The alleged victim, Richard Gutherie, told police the checks were cashed July 29 and 31. Each check was made out to Welty. Gutherie said the defendant is a former tenant who recently was evicted.Welty is charged with forgery, theft and receiving stolen property.He already was jailed for stealing a newspaper delivery man's sport utility vehicle in the city on Saturday. He is charged in that case with theft, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.Welty remains in the Butler County Prison on $11,500 bail.Tuesday — Joshua M. Crispin, 21, and his girlfriend, Surenu E. Frank, 24, both of Butler, are accused of forging and cashing a stolen check owned by Crispin's mother. The check for $60 was cashed Friday at a Butler bankBoth suspects face charges of forgery, theft by deception and two counts of conspiracy.Grove City PoliceTuesday — Jordan P. Ruddy, 22, of Grove City was arrested after he took a set of keys from a woman's vehicle at a West Main Street parking lot. He also contacted the same woman even after authorities warned him to leave her alone.Additionally, police searched Ruddy and allegedly found him with three different types of prescription pills.He is charged with theft from vehicle, harassment by communication, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Noon Tuesday — Robert Selvaggio, 55, of Sarver was hurt when he swerved his motorcycle to avoid a dog on Stoney Hollow Road in Winfield Township and crashed. Selvaggio, who was wearing a helmet, was treated at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, for minor injuries.Tuesday — Police announced they are looking for the person suspected of loosening and possibly removing the lug nuts from a vehicle's front tire, which later fell off Friday night as Randy Switzer of Bruin drove the vehicle on Route 268.The vehicle was apparently tampered with after 3:30 p.m. and before 8:30 p.m. Friday, while at Switzer's home on Main Street.Police are investigating the suspected crime as a case of criminal mischief and reckless endangerment. Anyone with information is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.
