Gettman

Timothy W. Gettman passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, surrounded by his family, at AHN Grove City.

Tim was a 1973 graduate of Seneca Valley High School. He was a free spirit and a lover of nature. His spirit led him to many new, interesting places and vocations over the years. He loved people and never met a stranger in his life. Tim was a skilled arborist, which he viewed as an art more than a job. The Zelienople landscape just wasn't the same after his retirement.

He had many different hobbies and interests over the years. He was always open to new things, including hunting, motorcycles, tennis, running, snow skiing, water skiing off his boat, church league softball and many, many more.

More than anything, Tim was the best Dad! He loved driving his truck in the Zelienople 4th of July parade with the bed full of his girls’ softball teams. He loved teaching them how to drive, letting them know what the best bands were, how to keep the box score at a Pirates game and annual trips to Geneva on the Lake.

He leaves behind to forever cherish their memories of him, his daughters, Rebecca Turowski (Tony Dalessandro) and Mary McManus (Aaron Kniess); his brothers, Jack Gettman and Alan Gettman (Eileen); along with several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Janet Gettman; his sister, Nancy Gettman; his sister-in-law, Judy Gettman, and his nephew, Jason Gettman.

He will be forever missed and remembered by the many people who loved him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at AHN Grove City as well as AHN Hospice Healthcare team.

GETTMAN — There will be no service for Timothy W. Gettman, who died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, as per his wishes, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
