Eugene W. Christy Jr., 53, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023.

He was born in New Castle, on Nov. 20, 1969, to the late Eugene Sr. and Bonita (Hardie) Christy.

After graduating from Portersville Christian School, Eugene went to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. He then worked at Traco until retirement. He was known for being a loving husband, father, son and brother with a wonderful sense of humor. Eugene was a member of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church and VFW Post 249. He enjoyed computer gaming, watching hockey and collecting nutcrackers.

Eugene was the beloved husband of Amy (Lingenfelter) Christy, since their marriage in 2001; father of Eugene Christy III; brother of Sil Diane Christy, Karen Christy, Dale (Barb) Christy, Robin (Jay) Stahlman, Connie Christy, Raymond (Chance) Christy, Virginia (Glenn) Wells, Rick (Neva) Christy and Douglas Christy.

Eugene was preceded in death by his brother Clyde Christy.

CHRISTY — Family and friends of Eugene W. Christy Jr., who died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, will be received for prayers at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way Fared Drive, Butler.

Services are through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

Due to allergies, the family has requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Association.
