Veteran built micro homes
Over the past several months, it appeared that there were more than the usual number of fires throughout Butler County, resulting in the need for housing.
After reading about the military veterans program organized by the Nonprofit Development Corporation via the VA Butler Healthcare system, I wondered if it would be feasible for Butler City, Butler Township and Butler County to purchase the micro homes built by veterans to be used by those families as temporary housing.
The micro homes could be placed on public property — parking lots, vacant lots, maybe even large playgrounds, or perhaps churches would offer a portion of their property or parking lots.
While those people who lost their homes seek permanent housing, having a place to live solves their most urgent need as they recover from the devastating loss of their home and belongings. Grants may help fund the purchase of these micro houses.
