The Puchnicks in 1956

Louis and Helen Puchnick celebrated 50 years of marriage with a recent dinner and party and W. Ricks Restaurant in Meridian. The event was hosted by their children. The couple also celebrated with a trip to New York City.

The former Helen Kowal married Puchnick on Jan. 28, 1956.

The couple has three children, William Puchnick of Arlington, Va., and David Puchnick and Karen Puchnick, both of Butler.

They also have two grandchildren.

Puchnick retired from the state police in 1990 after 36 years of service.

Mrs. Puchnick is active at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, where she participates in fish fry dinners, the choir and Christian Mothers group.
