Man accused of driving into Adams War Memorial waives hearing

EVANS CITY — A Valencia man accused of crashing into the War Memorial at Adams Township Community Park while driving under the influence waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday, Aug. 1.

Westbrook Perry, 59, faces two sets of charges, including DUI, reckless endangerment and drug possession, which were filed July 22. He appeared before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz.

Perry’s bond in both cases was modified to a combined $15,000 unsecured bond. He will be placed on pretrial supervision with an electronic monitor by the county probation office.

Police said Perry was pulled over for erratic driving July 21 and drove recklessly through the park later that day, causing alarm to the public.

Perry is accused of striking the War Memorial on the second incident.

According to Adam Township police chief Shawn Anglum, the memorial suffered $6,000 in damages.
