Alma Stopchick
Alma Jean Stopchick, 92, of Cranberry Township, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, while under the care of Concordia of Wexford.
Born Aug. 13, 1930, in Colver, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John Buck and Mary Marchak Buck.
Alma was an active member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church-Divine Grace Parish, where she led the rosary group with her late husband, Stephen. She worked for many years as a registered nurse at Passavant Hospital.
Alma was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed baking, especially pies. Above all, Alma cherished the time she spent with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, James (Lisa) Stopchick of Morrisville, N.Y., Mary (Scott) Main of Fombell, Mark Stopchick of Cranberry Township, Suzanne (Peter) Schwartzbauer of Princeton, Minn., and Steven (Kim) Stopchick of Cranberry Township; her grandchildren, Alex, Jonathan and Andrew Stopchick, Michelle and Christopher Main, and Cassidy and Ivy Stopchick; and her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Lucas and Emily Stopchick.
In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen J. Stopchick, who passed away on June 24, 2003; and her brothers, John and Joseph Buck.
STOPCHICK — Friends of Alma Jean Stopchick, who died Saturday, July 22, 2023, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the BOYLAN-GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave./PO Box 2155, Cranberry Township.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church-Divine Grace Parish, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.
She will be laid to rest at Holy Savior Cemetery in Richland Township.
